Gary Halbert, long known for writing tremendously successful direct response ads, created one for himself. Gary wrote and bought a full-page personals ad looking for a woman. Not only did he find a woman—he married her.
What’s even more amazing about the success of his writing is that he began before the instant response of the Internet, when folks sent in checks to buy products. Then later, he had 800 numbers to get a quicker response.
