Here’s a list of my favorite newsletters on marketing and business growth that I count on. No one expert can do the best job of delivering marketing and business advice. It takes a beautiful village of talented, curious pioneers to trod the path in front of us, trying and discovering wonderful methods and tools to make work life smarter, faster, and more successful.

Stay the course with your campaigns. Don’t be too quick to turn them off or to let them languish without activity. It might take 7-14 consistent touches to get the pay-off. 40-70% of prospects end up buying something within 18 months, says B2B marketing expert MariAnne Vanella.

What I’ve Been Reading
Tom Poland’s “Other People’s Networks” (ad link*). I’ve spent the last year talking about ways to market your business that cost nothing except a little time when Tom’s latest book crossed my path. (See my post “30 Ways to Leverage Other People’s Platforms to Increase Awareness, Credibility, and Revenues.”)
Tom lays out the very detailed formula that he uses to develop partnerships that yield results year in and year out. Needless to say, I took copious notes. I especially like his suggestion to make webinars part of a solid foundation. If you are looking for ways to increase your reach without spending money, I highly recommend getting his book and absorbing Tom’s lessons into your routine.

Really Good Oatmeal Cookie Recipe
Friends have adopted this as their own family recipe. The secrets? Dates give cookies that wonderful chewy texture. Another secret? It doesn’t use butter, but the cookies are still REAL good. It’s the pecans, coconut, raisins, and dates that give it a good crunch. To make them even more special, instead of vanilla or almond extract, I use a healthy glug of Amaretto.
