Discover new tactics that unlock the power of collaborations, testimonials, and unlisted articles and boost revenue
📹 Featured Podcast Episode
Author Lucia Matuonto’s Relatable Media podcast episode “Marketing Wisdom: Jan Carroza’s Tips and Trends for Entrepreneurs”
I was delighted to be Lucia’s guest on a “trip” where we explore several methods to leverage other people’s platforms – for free. I contend that every entity can benefit from a crafted campaign of content, collaborations, and speaking engagements to attract new prospects and clients. We should all be doing more of marketing efforts that don’t cost a dime – and be purposeful about it. But then Lucia and I take a back road into talking about RV travel to Alaska.

💡Great ways to establish your expertise
Take a tip from business growth coach Ann Carden who puts testimonials in the Featured Section of her LinkedIn profile. She also posts her articles as published with images of those magazines there too. Check out her example.
💡Easy, New Revenue Stream
Special access: In “21 Streams from 1 article,” content coach Jeff Herring outlines how you can charge for access to articles you post on Medium when you make them Unlisted. Only those with the link will be able to see it. Charge a small fee for access to this “deeper content.” You can also obviously just use this tip to offer something extra for free to your audience.
💡One to Many Revenue Tip
Let’s dispel the myth that webinars are dead or saturated. 73% of marketers still consider webinars to be the best way to generate qualified leads. Webinars are still a powerful way to add a one-to-many approach to your one-to-one model (something Ann Carden recommends too). According to webinar coach Jon Schumacher, we tend to overteach, and we show features instead of giving a “value stack” to see results (think checklists, samples scripts, strategy sessions, for instance). He recommends just a 30-minute “demo” webinar. Something we can all knock out in 15 hours.
So smart: I especially love his guidance to find groups to present the webinar to. For instance, find a joint venture group whose members let you give your presentation to their audiences. If you’d like to see Jon’s own demo webinar on the topic, head here.

I’m working on some “best of” lists to share expert sources of marketing and business wisdom that I follow ~ podcasts, newsletters, books, and blogs. I’ll continue to delve into ideas to help businesses get more business ~ for free. I’m thinking about end of year retrospectives and plans for experts I’d like to talk to next year.
📅 Coming Up Next Month
You might have seen my reference to coach Jeff Herring’s interview with author Elizabeth Cottrell on a zillion ways to monetize one article. Well, he did the same with me.
🛣 Road Trips
It’s that time of year: Pismo Beach, one of California coastline’s 31 destinations, is a waypoint this time of year for Monarch Butterflies. Not that you needed another excuse.
🫒 Perfect Quick Appetizer Recipe
With upcoming holidays, this is an easy, last minute snack for drop-ins or potlucks. Try Olive tapenade.
