✂ 3 Curations: As It Happens, All Podcast Episodes
Speaking of podcasters, I’ve curated some interesting revelations from interviews by marketing author and speaker Jay Baer’s Convince & Convert, B2B resource MarketingProfs, and radio show host and bestselling author Tony D’Urso.
Even Marketing Pros Are Always Learning: Two Examples
💡 With the buzz around AI writing, it was interesting to listen to Jay Baer visiting with Kate Bradley Chernis of Lately.ai on his Convince and Convert podcast when he realized how easily he could promote his entire 11 years of a back catalog of podcast episodes, with artificial intelligence. The same for their copious webinars. Tons of content to repurpose. Sound familiar?
💡Then in Tony DUrso‘s podcast episode with author and marketing Hall of Fame marketer Stu Heinecke, Stu describes how while writing “How to Grow Your Business Like a Weed” that he was stunned that he wasn’t implementing some of his own advice in his own business. He wasn’t working his own network to find more collaborations, one of the 30+ methods I recommend to amplify your message in the warm glow of credibility from other experts’ platforms.
💡 4 Tips to Ace Organic Social Marketing Strategy in MarketingProfs “Marketing Smarts” Podcast🚀
In this episode, expert Dorien Morin-van Dam, from More In Media, tackles organic social media strategy.
Start with Answers to Customer Questions
Dorien: “The content engine starts with doing a strategy. The first thing in a 90-minute strategy session would be asking them what their goals are.”
“organic content strategy means…answering the questions that they [your audience members] have.”
You’ll have to listen to the episode to find out what questions Dorien asks.
On Community
MarketingProfs Question: “Why is organic social media strategy essential for B2B marketers today?”
Dorien’s Answer: “I’m going to answer that with one word. Community. Community is the word. Community is the new thing.”
“[Social media] success is growth, success is movement, success is building a community.”
Piling On
Small world, but Dorien interviewed Kate Bradley Chernis, CEO of Lately.ai…who uses a Slack channel.
Dorien: “When somebody says something smart, one of their [Lately.ai’s] customers or somebody that she [Chernis] has been interviewed by on a podcast, she goes into the Slack channels and says [to her employees] “Everybody pile on, love pile,” and they all get the notification, they go to this person and they love on the podcast she was on or something they said or a book she wrote. She said once you’re in our circle of friends, we’re going to love on you.”
On Commenting
“When you comment on other people’s content, you are seen, you become an influencer, you become a leader, and you will see the power of social media.”
